RYAN UPTON – Master Teacher | Choreographer

From Preston in Northwest England, Ryan completed his professional training at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester where he trained in classical ballet, jazz, musical theatre and contemporary. While there, he was selected to perform in the schools performance companies Manchester City Ballet and Jazzgalore Theatre Company performing in principle roles such as the Prince and Snow Prince in The Nutcracker and Zach in A Chorus Line. His classical repertoire includes Giselle, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty and Romeo & Juliet. Upon graduating, he was cast as Romeo in Feelgood Theatre’s Romeo & Juliet, where he also served as choreographer for the pas de deux sequences for the production. Ryan joined Mystic Ballet and Mystic Dark Room artists in 2018, where he has performed leading roles in Nutcracker Spectacular and in Goran & Aleksander Subotic’s Fragile, Shot!, and Jacked. He has created the role of Scuttle in The Little Mermaid. Ryan toured Serbia with Mystic Ballet and The Dark Room Experience in the summer of 2019, and will be teaching master classes at KNT Danceworks in Manchester, England and directing workshops for All Hallows Catholic High School.  Ryan holds his ballet qualifications from ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). He prides himself on his work ethic and believes his passion for his art will never stop him from achieving his goals. He teaches Jazz, Dance Fusion, and Ballet at SMB.
