In 2009, she was awarded 1st place as a soloist in the Youth America Grand Prix in Japan. She continued on as a finalist in the Fukuoka and Nagoya competitions in 2010. As part of Sonoko Ballet she performed in the Pas de Trois from Swan Lake and the Pas de Deux in Flower Festival. From 2007-2012 she continued at Sonoko Ballet performing soloist roles in Don Quixote, Paquita, Grand Pas Classique and as Gulnara in Le Corsaire. In 2009, Tanaka was invited as a guest artist to dance Cupid with Ochi International Ballet Company. She joined Mystic Ballet in 2012.
