SUMMER INTENSIVE II
Overview
Mystic Ballet's Summer Intensive Program has earned a reputation for being the
most thorough and rewarding dance experience a student can have during the summer.
Under the supervision of Artistic Director, Desiree Subotic, the program offers
top quality teachers and master guest teachers that are dedicated to the learning
process and growth of each individual student. Class sizes will be limited.
Students participate in a minimum of four classes per day with Mystic Ballet's
renowned resident and guest faculty.
On the final day of Mystic Ballet's Summer Intensive students will perform in
a fully staged production choreographed by resident choreographer Sergei Vanaev,
as well as other works.

Eligibility
Study in Mystic Ballet's Summer Intensive is for intermediate and advanced students,
12 to 18 years old who are at a stage of technical advancement proportionate
to their age and who have the physical qualifications suited to the demands
of classical dance.
Admission to Mystic Ballet
The Summer Intensive offers a thorough introduction to Mystic Ballet's dance
curriculum and programs. In addition, it serves as an extended audition for
students seeking admission to Mystic Ballet's upcoming performance season and
for the academic year.
Desiree Subotic and the faculty carefully assess each summer student's interest
and technical accomplishment. As a result, a select group of talented students
will be invited to enroll in the upcoming Mystic Ballet's season/academic year.
Students attending Summer Intensive will be considered for roles in Mystic Ballet's
Peter Pan.
Curriculum
The Mystic Ballet Summer Intensive focuses on developing well-rounded dancers
by exposure to a wide variety of disciplines with an emphasis on classical ballet
technique.
Placement
The Summer School curriculum includes two levels. Placement classes are conducted
through audition, and each student is placed in the level that will most effectively
challenge his or her abilities.
Audition
An Audition is necessary to enroll in Mystic Ballet's Summer Intensive Program.
Mystic Ballet holds Summer Intensive auditions by appointment Thursdays at Mystic
Ballet, from February to April. Appointments may be made by calling 860 536-3671or
sending e-mail to the registrar at info@mysticballet.org
. An application fee of $30 is due at the time of audition registration. Payment
must be in the form of cash or money order. Personal checks will not be accepted.
As a general rule, recommendation letters, photographs and resumes are not accepted
at auditions. Girls must bring pointe shoes to the audition. Students currently
attending the School of Mystic Ballet are not required to audition.
Performances
On the final day of Mystic Ballet's Summer Intensive students will perform in

Tank Leotard- Solid color
Ballet Pink Tights
Pink Ballet Slippers- leather or canvas slippers and pink elastic.
Pointe Shoes- Pink with ribbons and elastic.
Boys:
White Short-Sleeved Leotard
Black Tights
Black Ballet Slippers- leather or canvas slippers with elastic
Other- Dance Belt
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please do not wear skirts, legwarmers, jewelry or hair ornaments.
Longer hair should be pulled neatly back, away from the face. For girls, a bun
is preferred.
