HOUSING

The Director of Student Services assigns student housing arrangements. Options include apartments, dormitory rooms, residence houses, and host families. There are no single room arrangements available at Academy of Ballet & Performing Arts - Mystic Ballet. Students will have one or more roommates. Changing room or roommate assignments is authorized only by the Director of Student Services.

At check-in students will be given their orientation package. This will include an additional copy of the Student Handbook, Student Behavior Contract, building directory, dorm key, class schedules, dress code, and performance calendar. Each student will be given a room inspection report to complete and return to the RA. You are responsible for noting any damages or markings to your room. Failure to properly check your room may result in your being charged for damages you are not responsible for.

Host Housing
Students living with host families abide by host family rules regarding chores, curfews, visitors, quiet hours and courtesy hours. Host families and parents/guardians are encouraged to discuss housing arrangements prior to their arrival at Mystic Ballet. Host information is forwarded to students in the housing package distributed during the month prior to arrival.

Apartment and House Residency
Typically, older and more mature students occupy these housing arrangements. Furnishings in these surroundings are limited to kitchen appliances, table, chairs, sofa, a television set, bunk beds, dressers, and closets. Regulations summarized under General Conditions, policies will apply.

Dormitory Housing
Dormitory rooms are equipped with an armoire, bunk beds, dressers, and desks. When packing, remember that space is limited. A suggested packing list is as follows :

* Sneakers or comfortable walking shoes for the season
* Cover-ups. (Street clothing is to be worn outside MB studios, and dancewear is not permitted as street attire.)

* Appropriate street clothing and outerwear for the season
* One outfit for special occasions is suggested
