Eve Chan was trained in ballet at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
She then performed with the Hong Kong Ballet as Demi-soloist and was appointed as one of three resident choreographers by Mr. John Meehan who was the Artistic Director in 2007.
While with the company, Eve danced many leading roles in the company’s classical and contemporary repertoire, including Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Theme and Variations, Turandot, Clear, Hush, The Way Alone, Rite of Spring, and tango ballet Tango.
In addition to dancing, she was commissioned to choreograph for many company productions. One of her works, Butterfly Lovers, was created for two principal dancers to perform at the Gala Internacional de Estrellas 2008 in Chile and later at the 2011 Auf der Weltspitze International Ballet Gala in Germany.
Chan was honored that she was invited to represent Hong Kong government and choreograph a piece for the 60th anniversary of China, which was held in Beijing in 2009.
After moving to New York, Chan continues to dance and choreograph. She holds a MFA in Dance from Purchase College SUNY, where she taught Ballet and Pointe classes in the Conservatory of Dance and Intro to Ballet classes through the School of the Arts.
As a choreographer, her works have been selected and presented in many festivals and events in New York, including Spring Rhapsody at the Skirball Center (2013), CounterPointe at the Astor Fund Arts Center (2012), TRANSLATE at Dixon Place (2012), Novas and Nocturnes at the Rose Theater, Lincoln Center (2012), WestFest Dance Festival at the Cunningham Theater (2011), Fall Movement at the Centre for Performance Research (2011). Eve is excited to join Mystic Ballet as Ballet Mistress.
