In 1992, with extraordinary vision, Desiree & Goran Subotic opened the Dance Palace-Academy of Performing Arts, designed as a unique centre for dance training and innovate methods, open to new ideas and cultures.
The Academy trains young dancers in classical and contemporary techniques and develops their artistic knowledge thanks to a rigorous education in music, rhythmics and drama.
In 1997, Academy of Ballet & Performing Arts, Dance Palace became the School of Mystic Ballet. Students studying at the Academy of Mystic Ballet have the advantage of being surrounded by the excitement and example of the professional dance world.
The comprehensive curriculum teaches a strong classical technique that is adaptable to any style, and its elective classes are designed to allow for individualized training at every level of interest and ability. Class sizes are limited so that the faculty can provide personal attention and correction.
Academy of Mystic Ballet’s faculty members are highly credentialed professionals, carefully selected from around the world, for their experience in the dance and education fields, as well as their nonparallel ability to motivate and nurture students.
Over the last decade, more than 300 young dancers from 20 different countries and from different socio-economic backgrounds have been given the opportunity to benefit, from a training course with world-class dance pedagogues, and choreographers, each year.
Stage experience is an integral part of the artistic training. Students have had the opportunity to perform with the Mystic Ballet Company throughout the season.
