Xanthe Geeves was born Sydney, Australia. She started studying classical ballet (Royal Academy of Dance) achieving the highest award of Solo Seal in 1998. She also studied Russian Character Dance, Modern Dance and Jazz. In her final year of high school, 1998, Xanthe was chosen as the winner of the Sydney Rotary Club Youth Award for Outstanding Achievement in the community. Ms. Geeves continue her education at the Palucca Schule in Dresden, and graduated with the State Diploma at the highest level for Classical Ballet, Classical Variation, Pas de Deux and Modern Dance. In 1999 Xanthe was chosen to represent the Palucca Schule in the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland.

Professional Dance Experience:
She performed with the Semperoper Ballett, Dresden (director Vladimir Derevienko), in Giselle and Swanlake (John Neumeier) and was Guest Artist with the Hannover Ballett (director Mahmet Balkan) in the production of Serenade (Balanchine).

Xanthe worked and performed in England with the English National Ballet (diector Derek Deane) in 2000 at the Albert Hall and toured Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide) in the production of Romeo and Juliet.

From 2000 to 2005, Xanthe was engaged as a soloist with the Hannover Ballet with renowned choreographer Stephan Thoss and performed Principal roles as Giselle in Giselle M, as Amalie in Othello and in contemporary works such as Begegnungen, Solus, Thundering Silence, Toteninsel and Visions Fugitives.

From 2006-2007 she was engaged by Jorg Mannes performing leading roles in Nacho Duarte’s Duende, and leading roles in Romeo and Juliet. During this time Xanthe also performed in the Choreographic Competition in Hannover and was guest artist with Aalto Ballet Essen.

Since 2007 she has been working with Stephan Thoss in the Wiesbaden Ballett as a principal dancer in many contemporary works created for her and in leading roles, such as Amalie in Musikalisches Opfer, as Odile (black swan) in Swanlake (Zwischen Mitternacht und Morgen), Giselle in Giselle, Bolero, Le Sacre du Printemps, Figurativ and many more…

Choreographers that Xanthe has worked with include, Raymond Hilbert, Derek Deane, John Neumeier, Jorg Mannes, Nacho Duarto, Matz Ek, and Stephan Thoss.

Professional Teaching Experience and Choreography:
Xanthe choreographed a solo for a performer in The Contemporary/Jazz Scholarship in Sydney, which won first prize ($10 000) in The MacDonald Eisteddfod, the largest in the southern hemisphere.

Ms. Geeves has thought Master Classes in Classical Ballet and Modern Dance throughout Australia.

Ms. Geeves has coached professional dancers in the lead role of Sugar Plum fairy and the Grand Pas de Deux for Nutcracker performances in Hannover Ballet, and as a representative of Stephan Thoss she auditioned the Chemnitz Ballet Company for their production of Giselle.

As a dance pedagogue Ms. Geeves has studied Personal Development, Health and Physical Education to HSC level, and for five years she was practicing and learning Pilates and has incorporated this knowledge into her warm-up classes and dance preparation.
