“Since the beginning of my dance career, my philosophy has been to approach movement quality from deep inside, with an organic combination of authentic emotions, versatile dynamics and precise musicality.”
Gregor Thieler was born in Berlin, Germany. He started dancing at the age of 8, earning his college degree from the Palucca Schule in Dresden, Germany. Upon graduation Mr. Thieler was immediately engaged by Ballet Hagen, where he started his career dancing, the main role of “Mozart” in “Mozart Movements”.
The following season, Ballet Dortmund offered him a position as Soloist, where he stayed for the next five years.
During his tenure Mr. Thieler was dancing main roles including “Jesus” in “Messiah”, “Tyler” in “Fight Club” and “ER” in “Das Lied vom Meer”. In 2005 he also worked as a guest dancer at the Aalto Ballet Essen, Germany in the production of “Swan Lake”.
From 2006 until 2007 he was engaged by Ballet Innsbruck, Austria where he danced the main roles “Paare” in “Requiem”, “Der Mann” in “Baustelle Mensch” and “Der Braeutigam” in “Bluthochzeit”.
From 2007 – 2010 Mr. Thieler has worked as soloist with Ballet Wiesbaden,Germany, working with Stephan Thoss, one of the most outstanding and highly decorated choreographers of Germany and Europe.
The last 10 years of his very successful professional career included dancing, singing, and acting, and in addition to being a dancer Mr. Thieler performed as assistant choreographer, and choreographer in over 40 different ballets, operas, musicals and movie productions. In 2008 he was invited to choreograph for the Fokumoto Ballet in Osaka, Japan with the piece “Kodo”.
