Mystic Ballet dancers make a 'clean-sweep' at American Ballet Theater, New York.

Mystic - After last year's success of the "Magnificent Seven" - as a local paper called seven Mystic Ballet dancers that were accepted into prestigious summer programs, the bar was set very high. What would happen this season?

What about this … seven Mystic Ballet dancers are accepted to Festival Ballet, with scholarships; one dancer is accepted at Boston Ballet; six dancers audition for American Ballet Theater, and all six are accepted; one dancer is accepted to The Harid Conservatory; Brianne Taylor, this year Mystic Ballet's graduate, last year's ABT recipient, applied to five of the nation's leading dance colleges and universities, and was accepted to all five with merit scholarships awarded.

Cary McGuire 17, Hayley Schneider 14, Hope Nelson 16, Alexa Sauchuk 13, Maegan Garvey 15, Breezy Heller 13, and Sarah Watrous 14, are accepted to Festival Ballet.
Alicia Carpenter, 13 years old form Westerly RI, was accepted to Boston Ballet, which holds auditions in 29 cities, with more than 2000 applicants, accepts only 350 dancers.

Breezy Heller, 13 years old from Westerly RI; Alexa Sauchuk, a 14 year old of Mystic; Hayley Schneider, 14 years old from Galas Ferry; Maegan Garvey, of Pawcatuck, a 15 year old; Hope Nelson, of Gales Ferry, a 16 year old; and Aleksander Subotic, of Stonington, also 16; on February 10, attended three separate auditions classes (for 3 age groups) at American Ballet Theater in New York. Each audition class has an average of over eighty dancers attending. Auditions for American Ballet Theater is highly selective. ABT holds auditions in 23 cities with a total of over 4000 dancers auditioning from all over the nation and world. One week later all six of them had received conformations of acceptance.

Aleksander Subotic, of Stonington, is a 16-year-old, sophomore at Stonington High School. In the past years has received the prestigious American Ballet Theatre Scholarship Award, as well as a Miami City Ballet Scholarship Award. This year Aleksander auditioned for The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, FL, one of the leading dance institutions in the world. The Harid Conservatory auditions in 17 cities with over 1500 applicants, and accepts only 60 dancers.
During the regular academic year, The Harid Conservatory, students are in a full scholarship program. However, for the Summer Program - which Harid uses as a selection process for talented dancers to be accepted into their regular academic year program, scholarships are awarded in very special and rare occasions.
Aleksander was accepted into Harid. In his two page acceptance confirmation letter, The Harid Conservatory addressed the importance, and highly unusual precedence, acknowledging his merit, he was award a full tuition scholarship, as well as a full room and board scholarship.

Brianne Taylor, of Mystic, an 18-year-old, last year was accepted to American Ballet Theatre's - Colligate Program in New York City. After 9 years of studying with Mystic Ballet, Brianne is graduating this year. She has applied to five collages and universities in the country, DeSales University, Center City PA; Drexel University, Philadelphia PA; Hofstra University, Hempstead NY; Columbia College, Chicago IL, and Goucher College, Baltimore MD, all highly recognized and competitive performing arts institutions. Brianne was accepted to all five of them, with merit scholarships.
