
Rafik Hegab
Received his dance education from the National Academy of the Arts and joined the Cairo Opera Ballet Company in 1999. In 2000 the Arab Republic of Egypt High Council of Culture awarded Mr. Hegab first prize in the National Ballet Competition. In 2002 he was promoted to Soloist, and in 2004 served as first soloist. Known for his roles in Le Corsair, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Carmina Burana, as John in Zorba the Greek, and Bonvolio in Romeo and Juliet, he also performed many modern and contemporary works. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2009 from the Higher Institute of Ballet majoring in the teaching methods of ballet, he has worked as teacher and trainer with Cairo Modern Company, assistant to the professor of ballet at the Higher Institute of Ballet, and has coached dancers of the Cairo Opera Ballet for competitions. Tours include China, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, India, Greece and Russia.
