
Hiroko Maehara
Born in Gunma, Japan she started her ballet training at age 11 at the Reiko Yamamoto Ballet School. Maehara was a semi finalist at the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland in 2006. Upon graduating from the Tokiwa Ballet School in 2007, she continued her studies at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. Maehara performed with the Australian Ballet in The Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphide, and Graduation Ball for the 2008 tour. She joined Mystic Ballet in 2009. Her contemporary repertoire includes Loosin Yelav by Jiri Kylian, lead roles in Sidra Bell’s Red Line, Sergei Vanaev’s Death and Maiden, No Pas De Deux, El Paso Requiem and Leave Me Alone; classical repertoire includes Adam and Eva by Uve Shollze, Pas de trios from Le Corsaire, the Fairy Godmother in Mystic Ballet’s Cinderella, title role in The Little Mermaid and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker.
