The season’s opening can certainly be called extraordinary – with Mystic Ballet’s new home in the heart of Mystic at Mystic Stage. Meet the artists, dancers and choreographers of Mystic Ballet that have seized this opportunity to perform at a brand new stage, the classical masterpieces to delight traditionalists and new works of four choreographers:

• Gabrielle Lamb of Morphoses will present Transit of Venus and Marooned. Mystic Ballet premièred these works at Jacobs Pillow this summer. 
• Brian Enos, “His work is quite frankly, brilliant” – The Houston Press.
• Sergei Vanaev’s Periscope Up!, set to music by Tom Waits
• Lauren Edson’s exhilarating Sun and Steel inspired by Yukio Mishima’s belief that Japanese culture blends the two contradictory elements of beauty and brutality; and a classical masterpiece to delight traditionalists.

Classical to contemporary, abstract to story based, these works are thought provoking, intellectually stirring, and fun!
