William Herrera Gutierrez

Born in Managua, Nicaragua.

Education: Graduated from Escuela Nacional de Ballet Nicaragua. Ballet Folklorico Quetzaltnahuatl, William Herrera, Anna Medrano, Maria Torguet (Cuba).

William started dancing at the age of 8 in Ballet Folklorico Quetzaltnahuatl under the direction of William Herrera.

In 2010, he joined the contemporary company: Danza Contemporanea UNAN-MANAGUA under the direction of Ally Reyes, and Compañía Ballet de Nicaragua under the direction of William Herrera. He has performed in international galas in Nicaragua and as a guest artist in El Salvador and Costa Rica. He was awarded Diamond and Gold medalist at Danza Activa 2012, in Panama. His principal roles include Franz in Coppelia, Alain in La Fille Mal Gardee, and Solor in La Bayadere.

In 2013 he joined Mystic Ballet 2. While at Mystic Ballet, William performed in Lauren Edson’s “Imaginary Love” at Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Series and worked with choreographer, Austin McCormick.

William likes eating; he can eat 6 burgers in a row.
