Ting-Yu Tsai

Born in Taipei, Taiwan (R.O.C)

Education: I-Shin Dance Studio, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Sylvia Wu, I-Shiang Liu, Yu-Chen Pan, Ou Lu, Stella Lau, Zhao Min Hua, Grame Collin

Ting Yu graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) Bachelor of Fine Arts with first class honors in 2013.  In 2010-2013 She was awarded the Hong Kong SAR Government Scholarship and the HKAPA School of Dance Choreographic Scholarship in 2012. She finished Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 with Distinction and participated in the Genée International Ballet Competition, held in London in 2010. She has worked with the Hong Kong Ballet in their production of Swan Lake in 2011. Ting Yu has performed leading roles in Les Sylphides, Excerpts from Don QuixotePaquita by Maruis Petipa, Angry Score by Brian Carey Chung in Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive Performance at New York Symphony Space and Traeumer by Ismael Ivo. Other repertory works she has performed are the Peasant Pas de DeuxFour Temperaments by George Balanchine, Persisting Memories by Cathy Marston, As Yet Unknown, Unfinished by Cho-­Yi in BNU International Creative Dance Seminar as well as Shelter by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar in American Dance Festival in Henan China. Ting Yu has worked with Chamber Ballet Taipei as a demi soloist in a 2013 production. She was also awarded the prestigious Margaret Zee Outstanding Performer Award in 2013.

Ting-Yu joined Mystic Ballet in 2013. During her time at Mystic Ballet, She has performed leading role of Clara in Nutcracker Spectacular at The  Fox Theater and The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino, APAP in New York, the title role in Snow White, Cinderella and Nottobe. Repertoire with Mystic Ballet includes works by Sergei Vanaev, Lauren Edson, Gabrielle Lamb, and Goran Subotic.

Tours with Mystic Ballet include BallettGala Stadttheater Bremerhaven in Germany in 2014 and 2015, Bitef Theater and Terazije Theater in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2014 and the Teatro National Managua in Nicaragua in 2015.

Ting Yu loves the Panda from Taipei Zoo, she’s saving money to buy it.
