From Fort St John, BC, Canada and began dancing at the age of four. She trained with Shauna Milne in many disciplines such as ballet, tap, jazz and acro. After graduation she attended the Arts Umbrella graduate program in Vancouver, Canada under the direction of Artemis Gordon and Lynn Sheppard. It was there that she developed her love of contemporary dance and had the opportunity to work with many highly acclaimed choreographers including Gioconda Barbuto, Iratxe Ansa, Christophe Dozzi, Francisco Martinez, Lesley Telford, James Kudelka and Fernando Hernando Magadan. Some highlights include performing in “Il y a longtemps” by Christophe Dozzi, “Untitled Scenery” by James Kudelka, “Take Off” by Fernando Hernando Magadan, excerpts of “Dark Matters” by Crystal Pite and performing during Arts Umbrella’s 2014 European Tour. Shannon trained and performed in jazz and physical theatre in Calgary and took part in the Spellbound Summer Intensive in Rome. In 2015, she joined the Dance in Art Junior Company in Haarlem, The Netherlands. There she worked with director Martine van Santen and choreographer Rianne Slenema and was able to immerse herself in the new developments in contemporary dance. In the few moments she is not dancing she loves reading, snowboarding and traveling with family and friends. This is Shannon’a second season with Mystic Ballet.
