Dance critic Sharma Howard described Mahara’s Swan Lake…“Ballerina Maehara, tiny and sprite-like, nevertheless displayed some fierce solos in which she exemplified classical training and discipline with crisp chaine turns, breathtaking extensions, buoyant leaps and feathery lands.” This summer, she was invited for an International Gala in Nicaragua, and returned to Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Series for 2 performances that concluded with a standing ovation. This is Hiroko’s fifth season with Mystic Ballet. Hiroko loves cats and dogs. She has 3 cats at home in Japan and they are pretty big… 15-17lb!
