Changhyun was born in Busan, South Korea, and began dancing at 8 years old because of his mother’s pressure. At 12, he entered the L’école de Danse Institut Stanlowa in Paris and 4 years later he was accepted to the Conservatory National Supérieur de Danse de Paris where he danced works by John Neumeier and Jiri Kylian. In 2012, he entered the Korea National University of the Arts. His classical repertoire includes Basile in Don Quixote, Sylvia, and Prince Desire in Sleeping Beauty. He has performed works by Serge Lifar, Maurice Bejart, Christopher Hampson, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and Nicolas Paul.
Changhyun has always been inspired by classical dance, he likes to create new movement from ballet steps. His favorite dancer is Nicolas Leriche of Opéra National de Paris.
